Beautiful Birds on every Trail

Lovely birds flocked to Hot Springs National Park on February 05 2015. Only minutes on the first Trail I spotted a Female Cardinal plus a mixed flock of Robins and Cedar Waxwings. All were enjoying the berry laden Trees.  On the Short Cut Trail several Male cardinals were crisscrossing the trail.  A blur of red in the bright morning sun.

At the top of Hot Springs Mountain a mixed flock of Eastern Bluebirds and Pine Siskins land on a Tree next to me.  It was the first time I had seen either of these birds in a flock.  They hung on the side of the Tree fighting for pecking position in the mossy areas.

Bird song filled Hot Springs Mountain Trail during my hike around the mountain.  Juncos, Pine Warblers, Sparrows and Yellow-Rumped Warblers created a beautiful sight with a delightful chorus as they traveled in mixed flock.

When I was changing my camera battery a sweet little Hermit Thrush landed on a branch near my shoulder.  It appeared curious watching me closely as I zipped up my pack.   A perfect end to a hike that was for the birds 😉

I love early morning light in the Forest.  Slowly rising the sun awakens a sweet song of life which echos across the Tree tops.  A song to my Soul as I move gently along the trails in Hot Springs National Park.

Paparockzi: The art of photographing Nature’s “Rock Stars”.

Winter is the perfect season for everyone to hone their Paparockzi skills. Sun has full access to highlight the colorful layers of each unique rock as the canopy recedes.  Rain washes each unique sculpture to reveal the glorious detailed surfaces.  Lichen paints the formations with muted colors and delicate textures.

I wasn’t the only one who was pleased with the temperature this morning. It was perfect hiking weather sunny in the low 70s and humidity was low too.  Along the trail sweet bird song filled the air.  A mixed flock of small birds landed in the Trees on either side of me.  They were happily seeking food and nesting materials.  Beautiful Life in the summer Forest.

A glorious summer morning to get out and play.

I was mooned by a Lady Bug and found a small dead Crab (Arkansas does not have a coastline) on a trail…  Beautiful purple Skullcap is in full bloom and lovely Birds have returned to nest in the park.  The mystery bird call which starts with a loud low rumble followed me on the Short Cut Trail on Hot Springs Mountain.  The last time I heard this mystery bird call was on North Mountain.  Pretty Fungi sculptures grew out stumps and trail edges. Southern Magnolias are displaying buds, blooms and seed pod creation.  It is a beautiful show of color white, green, rust and red.

Let life flow through the filter of your Heart. ~
