Morning on the trail as the first light rises above the the ridge line. Autumn’s first colorful Leaves illuminated confetti sprinkled upon the forest floor. A perfect start to any day… don’t forget to go outside and play.

I saw and photographed my first Eastern Bluebird on November 15th of 2010 on the top Music Mountain. It has been a long search (nearly 4 years) to see another in Hot Springs National Park. While hiking on the Goat Rock Trail I heard a rustling above me and looked up into the eyes of an Eastern Bluebird. A few moments later it flew to another Tree and joined another. I wonder if they will winter here or are only passing through.

Autumn Leaves below a vibrant blue sky fall softly to the Forest floor. Wildflowers push through the colorful Leaf tapestry for the beautiful insects collecting the golden pollen. It is a lovely time to traverse the the mountains of Hot Springs National Park.

Mostly cloudy Autumn days are a photographers friend. The darker skies with random streams of light create luminous effects among the changing Autumn Leaves. Some Leaves appear to be translucent as the sparse sun rays create a beautiful layered effect.
