Elusive Winged Beauty in the Heat

I visited the Forest estate in Malvern again and was surprised by the variety of birds.  Even though some of the grounds were being mowed and they did not appear to be used to humans seeking them out they did allow me to glimpse their beauty.

It was 103 in Hot Springs when my beloved husband and I took a short (very short hike).  I spotted a lovely Mockingbird singing, it held its wings slightly open as it wove a melody.  I wonder if the wing position gave some relief from the overpowering heat and humidity.

The Hazy Season Has Arrived

Summer always feels like my glasses are fogged up even when I am not wearing any.  Moving to the South was a lesson in humidity survival.  Trying to focus my eyes let alone my camera can be difficult when the air creates a layer between my lens and the subject of my photography.  The veil of air reflects the light and changes perspective and colors.  During the hazy months I see what is produced by my camera surreal than realistic.

I was mooned by a Lady Bug and found a small dead Crab (Arkansas does not have a coastline) on a trail…  Beautiful purple Skullcap is in full bloom and lovely Birds have returned to nest in the park.  The mystery bird call which starts with a loud low rumble followed me on the Short Cut Trail on Hot Springs Mountain.  The last time I heard this mystery bird call was on North Mountain.  Pretty Fungi sculptures grew out stumps and trail edges. Southern Magnolias are displaying buds, blooms and seed pod creation.  It is a beautiful show of color white, green, rust and red.

Let life flow through the filter of your Heart. ~

Nerdy PC Housekeeping Reveals A Forgotten File Folder

I was performing a bit of nerdy computer housekeeping today when I notice a folder that did not have a date in the title.  Inside I found images from a quick evening hike on April 16 2013.  A lovely gift after hours of sorting, moving and deleting of files.  An unexpected taste of spring as summer inches closer.

A stream flows through us from the Universe, each ripple we create touches all.

My camera’s back and Sony fixed the trouble
(Hey la, hey la, my camera’s back)

I pried open my package hugged my camera, loaded the memory card and battery. Installed a lens and headed outside for a quick test. I captured a bit of Nature and city life.

Please understand vehicles are not my photography forte… but I love vintage cars. Chrome and big engines are the artistic apex of man and machine.
