Hints of Autumn appear in the Forest

Visit the forest in early autumn to see emerging colorful leaves, wildflowers, tiny beings and fungi.  There are subtle changes each day you hike and each trail is renewed with color transformation.  Plus it is autumn wildflower time too! Reptiles will hibernate soon as the temperature drop and small mammals are gathering for winter.

HSNP An Autumn Sunrise from Hot Springs Mountain

I love a beautiful autumn sunrise from the top of Hot Springs Mountain.  It is a perfect start to any morning hike.  Breathe. Pause. Enjoy the colorful light then hit the trail.

Beautiful Early Autumn Red

Most of the early autumn colors are not autumn leaves. Nature puts on a lovely show of red with birds, fungi and seeds.

Amanita Caesarea aka Ceasar Mushroom

Glowing softly in early morning light orange Caesar Mushroom begin to emerge from the forest floor.  Pushing aside dirt, twigs, pine needles and leaves they reach upward.

Remembering 9/11 in Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas

With open Hearts we will never forget those who lost their lives and risked their lives all becoming Heroes while from afar we froze in silent terror at the sight of the 9/11 Terrorist Attacks. Blessing to you all and know our prayers are always with you and your families.
