Good Ol Freda Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival

Great evening watching Good Ol Freda at the Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival on Oct 11 2013 at the Arlington Hotel in Hot Springs, Arkansas… Freda Kelly and Jessica Lawson rocked the enthusiastic audience during Q&A after the film.

From the Cavern to the split up of the band Freda takes us on a Magical Mystery Tour of her life (10 years) as Secretary for The Beatles. Freda Kelly is a unique combination of both fan and ultimate insider.  Her insightful film commentary detailing the rise of The Beatles creates a genuine heartfelt oral history. Good Ol Freda is a visual feast which includes rare photos of John, Paul, George, Ringo and Pete flashing across the big screen backed by authentic Beatles recordings.  I was riveted throughout the film with a face aching grin frozen in place as Freda detailed her transformation from innocent teenager to adult while being catapulted into the spotlight and frenzy of Beatlemania.  Good Ol Freda needs to be on your 2013 “must see” film list.
