Mid summer the leaves are lush and birds are often hidden from view and butterflies are scarce. It is a joy to spot a variety of winged beauties on our hike. A Little Yellow (Sulphur Butterfly) is perch on a twig at the trail edge. High above us a Mourning Dove sit on a bare branch and a molting red Summer Tanager sings a trilling tune. Near the end of our hike we catch sight of a Blue Grosbeak catching a green caterpillar for breakfast.
Have a lovely day and get out and play!

Melting in the heat and humidity of the Rainforest is a cleansing experience. Toxins leave the body and Soul with each drenched step up the mountain side. I am bathed in the light rising up through the Trees as the sweet song of a Scarlet Tanager revives my Soul.
Within each Soul is a yearning to bond with Nature. ~ Lee Hiller

Color and Pop can occur naturally, be man made and or digitally enhanced by the photographer.
Nature can create pop using a Tree over several seasons, with a single Wildflower or a single Leaf.
A person can paint a door green and red for contrast against a white facade.
The background can be darkened with light placement to make an object radiant as if lit from within.
Or we can remove all but one color in a photograph to create a dramatic focal point.
The art of pop with color is limitless. Subject, lens filters, lighting, aperture adjustments, focal points, software enhancements etc. are all part of a photographers toolbox. Do not be afraid to experiment and make each photo a unique artistic foil for your creative mind. There is no right or wrong.
