Mid summer the leaves are lush and birds are often hidden from view and butterflies are scarce. It is a joy to spot a variety of winged beauties on our hike. A Little Yellow (Sulphur Butterfly) is perch on a twig at the trail edge. High above us a Mourning Dove sit on a bare branch and a molting red Summer Tanager sings a trilling tune. Near the end of our hike we catch sight of a Blue Grosbeak catching a green caterpillar for breakfast.
Have a lovely day and get out and play!
