It is winter in Arkansas and the consistent 75+ temperatures has awoken the Tree Blossoms.  Outside the Hot Springs National park headquarters a large Saucer (Japanese) Magnolia is in full bloom.  Across the street in downtown Hot Springs aka the Historic District Cherry Blossoms (Sakura) create a pink corridor.

Storm clouds rise over a sea of pink blossoms. The darkness and grey cannot fade the beautiful Sakura dancing on the icy breeze.

Awakening Pink Sakura in 2016

As winter fades the first Sakura buds open to reveal red stars among the pale pink petals.  Against the grey sky they are a constellation of beauty in the tree limbs above. Drops of rain caress the blossoms reflecting one and other.

Cherry Blossoms Glowing in the Fog

Rain, snow, ice bombarded the forming Cherry Blossom Buds twice this year.  I was delighted to see that some buds had survived and were opening to reveal waves of pink.  As I set up my first shot I noticed a light fog rolling off the surrounding mountains to caress the delicate new blossoms.
