For the second time we spotted a tiny secretive snake on the Hot Springs Mountain Trail. Last October we were lucky to see a western worm snake (Rare Trail Traveler Western Wormsnake). This time we spot a red-bellied snake laying on the trail. In the early light I stepped over what I thought might not be a twig. As I looked down the dark head became clear. Turning quickly I stopped my husband. We enjoyed observing this beautiful being.
Love to ALL!
