HSNP Hot Springs Mt Trail Phoenix

Thousands of pictures later on my blog and I realize many of my favorites have been overlooked. Buried among the landscapes, wildlife, insect and bird photographs are small details.

The main Tree in the Forests of Hot Springs National Park is the Short Leaf Pine.  The pine bark appears to be a serious of delicate scale.  Over the years I have noted patterns in the bark that I thought was likely insect activity.  I could be wrong though. It could be the wee folk of our Forest.
