I have glimpses of a serene friendship-land, and know the better
why brooks murmur and violets grow. ~ Henry David Thoreau
This blog entry is dedicated to my Mom. The photograph above was part of a collection of photography prints I sent to her before she passed away. Her favorite flowers were always violets. (Blog: Why so many Violet photographs?)
As most of you reading this know Nature photography is my passion. When HBO Films asked to use my Birds-Foot Violets photograph (above) for their documentary “Saving My Tomorrow” I was happy to say, “Yes!” When I discovered yesterday they actually did use it I was happy, shocked, elated etc. I am pleased to be a part of a documentary film feature children fighting to save our planet Earth. Their efforts may be our best hope to save many species from extinction and halt global warming. (see video below)
I am grateful/thankful they created an overlay of my violets with Thoreau’s journal entry about Birds-Foot Violets. He made entries detailing nature’s cycle of seasons including the blooming of the tiniest wildflowers. I feel a kindred connection to his writing and this could not be a a more appreciated film debut for my Nature photography.
I am proof it is never too late to follow your Dreams.
Love to ALL!

Special thanks to my husband Rick for encouraging me to follow my Nature Photography Dream.
