When I saw Nature was today’s theme I knew I had this covered. My blog Hike Our Planet is as you may have guessed an ode to Nature. However, I felt compelled to dash out this morning and capture a Magnolia in the golden hour of light before sunrise (we get two because of the positions of Hot Springs and North Mountains). Image above was taken in June 2015 and image below was taken in June 2011 about 3 hours apart.
Light reveals and creates lines in the curve of petals slowly opening or the angle of a curling leaf. Light also creates as it finds the gaps between the dense clusters of leaves. Those highlighted spaces of blue sky, golden light and illuminated leaves create a stained glass ceiling above the Magnolia. Below you will find a slideshow of light and lines in Nature from my previous posts.

Breathtaking photos – nature at its best. Fabulous 🙂
Nature and Light combine to create beautiful art to photograph. I am blessed to see it through my lens.
Wow. Those are awesome shots. The Magnolia with the blue sky is amazing. Thanks for sharing
Thank You for visiting! I love how the mineral infused light (from the hot springs and humidity) in Hot Springs National Park creates spectacular blue skies.
Those dew drops are just stunning – just breathtaking.
