Often we see sign asking us to stay on trails or not to cut through protected areas. What appears to be a perfect cut through is filled with wildlife not always seen easily with the naked eye. Lovely creatures like this lovely baby Northern Green Anole are moving quietly across the Forest floor and could be crushed by hiking boots. These tiny creature can rapidly change from vibrant green to light brown and variations in-between. This ability to camouflage makes them difficult to see among the leaves, twigs and grass on the Forest floor and is why they are also known as the American Chameleon.
