I went hiking on the eleventh anniversary of the tragic 9/11 terrorist attacks. It was a hike to try and ease the grief that never seems to leave my heart. My only hope to ease the ache was a total immersion in the Forest and a climb up North Mountain.

In a summer that has been brutal with oppressive heat and drought conditions the 68 degree morning temperature was a gift.  It had been awhile since I had been to Goat Rock (aka the hottest place in the park), with a cool breeze at my back it became my destination.

Nature created a beautiful treasure hunt. With a keen eye and open Heart I was rewarded with sightings of colorful Wildflowers, Rocks and Fungi. Can you breathe in Peace?  I believe you can. When my Soul reached out for comfort the Universe pulled me into its embrace and Peace filled my Heart.
